The Bronx Bombers a Generational thing handed down from Dad fan since 1962

2009 was a stellar year for the boys in Pinstripes  So many complain about  "They Buy it" BS. The New York Yankees are the greatest sports Franchise in the History of Mankind. You can't buy a championship just as you can't buy the WH. there is much more to winning then money.

I guess if you are a socialist and want equal distribution throughout the world so we can have "fairness"? But just as Rush Limbaugh recently stated in an interview "You are worth whatever someone is willing to pay you as they pay you in order to create even more wealth and better lives for all". There is no such thing in any occupation as "so and so is not worth it". The players the Yankees signed generate more revenue for the team and local economies then they are paid period. They bring more gate receipts throughout the major leagues and frankly I reject this class envy argument against achievers it is purely Marxist. The Yankees have failed over and over with free agents and you can not just "purchase" a Championship it takes much more then money but if you generate money you should reinvest it just as Drug Companies, and oil companies do despite the class envy that is taught by the mainstream media. This year was sweet as 2001 and 2003 were so hard to take and then those failing years afterward with all the bum signings and heartbreak. I wanted Giradi all along and feel he is a good manager and did a great job. The 3 Day rest talk all over the sports world was like a media template they just kept it up and kept it up. Never looking at History and understanding that it has been common through baseball History. Koufax threw Shutouts on 2 days rest. Matsui deserved the MVP no doubt. He played in all 6 games not 3 and produced as a PH in Philadelphia. I detest the DH (I still wonder if Ted Williams would of played until death if they had it) and always will but it is there and he was most valuable no doubt. It was a great moment seeing him get that trophy and like Jeter he is on everyone's favorite Yankee list. I love Mo but I still can't buy the fact that a guy throwing to a few batters should obtain so much glory. I long for the complete game pitcher like the older days. Goosage and Lyle were Relief pitchers they came in when you needed them and went 3-4 innings whatever was needed. The "Save" is an overrated stat. Being a Baseball fan is special as it is a game like no other that is part of your soul. Being a Yankee fan is even more special living through what I have and hearing my Dad's recollections of going to afternoon games in the Bronx was part of growing up. I can understand Yankee fans deep emotions and never forgot the joy I saw in my Dad when Willie McCovey lined out to Bobby Richardson in 1962.(runners on 2nd and 3rd after a Felipe Alou Double Say hey kid on deck) From that moment I wanted whatever joy my Father felt and was hooked. in 2009 we felt it again! Bring on the Hot Stove no Football for me.

2010 ended in a loss at Texas as the Yankees poor September and Giardi's poor managing of the pitching staff lead to a decline.
